Have you ever tried dunking sandwich cookies in melted chocolate? If you haven’t, please let me encourage you to do so immediately! There’s no easier way to create festive Holiday Cookies, and your kids will love getting involved in helping you create!
2 Snack-Size Boxes of OREO Cookies
2 Snack-Size Boxes of Nutter Butter Cookies
1/2 a Package of White Almond Bark (Our favorite!)
A Variety of Festive Sprinkles/Toppings (Anything goes!)
I gathered red and green chocolate chips, red and green sugar sprinkles, and multi-colored sprinkles.
Open the packages of sandwich cookies.
Immediately eat at least one cookie – just to start things off right.
Begin melting your almond bark. (For this step, I like to use my double boiler.)
While your chocolate is melting, eat two…or three more cookies.
When your chocolate is completely smooth and melted, dip each of your leftover cookies in chocolate. (Adding a little teaspoon of vegetable oil while your chocolate is melting helps to make it nice and smooth.)
Quickly use your other hand to sprinkle fun toppings right on to the chocolate coating and then carefully lay the dipped cookies out on wax paper.
Be sure to get your kids involved in this part!
As soon as the chocolate hardens, start enjoying your pretty treats.
Then begin to face your regret that you sneaked and ate the first few cookies without dipping them in chocolate and sprinkling them with toppings first.
I also think it will be fun to experiment with different kinds of sprinkles to make festive party cookies that can be enjoyed all throughout the year!
These just scream Birthday Party, don’t ya think?
